Capsules of Time - Richmond Art Gallery 2002

Hundreds of sheets of my paper cover the gallery walls. Each section of a row reflects a period of time on a particular day, natural material is gathered and paper made. A relationship that has no scientific delineation or socially acceptable way of describing it. It is a non- traditional relationship with plant forms and physical spaces. My environment is the source of the materials I use, and the essence of my work reflects my love of gathering, preserving and raising awareness for the respectful use of the environment. From the grass, seaweed, bark, fern and other plants that I collect, I create paper without the use of additives - just plant material.

A soundscape accompanied the exhibition it was a loop of sounds I had recorded of eagles calling, sound of raven wings and many of his different calls, the sounds of me walking beside the sea and a creek my voice over the top gently saying the names of the plants I had used.
